Welcome!

Welcome to my website!

Are you an avid reader who loves historical fiction? If so, I hope you’ll add my books to your ‘want to read’ list and dive right into them. I love stepping back into time and weaving real places and actual historical figures with my fictitious characters. Many of my books are based on true stories. I even braved revealing some family secrets in my most recent book, “Hidden in the Blue Ridge Mountains.”

To find out more details about each individual book, just click on the book tabs above. I’ll take you on adventures down the Mississippi River on a steamboat in the 1850s, you can travel with me to the Smoky Mountains in 1865 and go to one of my favorite spots there, Cades Cove, or you can go West with me in the late 1800s in “His Heart’s Long Journey!” That trilogy was also based on real people–ancestors of a good friend of mine. If you like family drama, be sure to read my Southern Secrets Saga. It follows five families through two generations and is set for the most part in Mobile, Alabama during Reconstruction, approximately seven years after the end of the Civil War. A troubling time in our country, to say the least!

If you’re more inclined to read fantasy, I have you covered there, too, with my Medieval Fantasy, the Shrouded Thrones series. Book one, “Island in the Forest” is like an adult fairy tale, and it does have a happy ending. If that’s what you want, then don’t proceed to book two! The series gets a little dark, and you’ll meet some of the most evil, vile characters imaginable. Kings and queens vying for power. Though very different from my usual writing, this series has become a favorite of many of my readers.

I also have several books written for young adults. “He’s in My Dreams” will make you cry, but it has a very surprising ending. And if you like sleuthing and figuring out who the serial killer is, be sure to read “Regenerates.” Both of these present-day books are set in the Pacific Northwest. I recommend them for ages thirteen and up.

Lastly, my contemporary women’s fiction book, “A Golden Life,” will make you wonder about my train of thought. This story has magical realism and is definitely a woman’s fantasy. It takes place in Gatlinburg, TN, and is the story of a widowed author who is having trouble writing romance novels after losing the love of her life. On the anniversary of her husband’s death, a knock on her door changes her life forever. She comes face to face with characters from her books and eventually finds herself smack dab in the middle of her own love scenes.

I’m so glad you found my website! I keep it updated with all my new releases, so be sure to follow me. If you’d like to be the first to see my cover releases and know when  and where I’ll be doing book-signings, please subscribe to my monthly newsletter.

  4. I have read 5 of Jeanne’s books and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them! I have known Jeanne for over 20 years, she continues to amaze me with her artistic ability. There is nothing she can’t do! I have seen her artwork, i’ve seen her star in plays, I’ve heard her sing (in fact she sang at my wedding)! I’ve seen some of the songs she has written, and now she’s writing books! Once I start reading one of them, I can’t seem to put it down! As I said, there’s nothing this lady can’t do and whatever she does, she does it well. She is an amazing person and I am proud to call her my friend.

    • Judy, you’re so kind! You’ve been a blessing to my life and I’m proud to call you my friend, too! Thank you for always being so supportive of me. You’ve encouraged me at times when I felt ready to give up in the sometimes cruel artistic world! You’re amazing and incredibly gracious.

  5. I love your books an take that wholeheartedly, when will the next book Redemption be out ,I’m waiting on tenterhooks. This is the very first fan letter I’ve ever written. , Sincerely Brenda Baker

    • You’re so kind, Brenda! I’m honored to have received your first fan letter!🙂
I’m expecting the final draft of “Redemption” from my editor any day now. I’d hoped to have it out by Thanksgiving, but am quite confident it’ll be released by the end of the month. It’s a long one, so it’s taking a little longer! I think you’re going to enjoy it, and it’ll be worth the wait.
      Happy Thanksgiving!

  7. I just read your Cades Cove Series, thoroughly enjoyed each book! What suprised me was the acknowledgements.. I grew up in Shelbyville & still live in the county, worked for the local newspaper where I also met Duane Puckett….just a cool coincidence. I’m going to start now on the Southern Secrets Series, thanks for the good reads & the research you put into each book.

    • That’s incredible, Joy! I truly believe it’s a small world.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying my books! Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to send this message. It really means a lot to me! Jeanne

  8. I just finished reading the Cade’s Cove books! I loved reading about Lily and Caleb. I was hoping there was a fourth! You’re a great writer and I loved every minute of the three books! Nancy Rainey

    • You’re so kind, Nancy! Thank you for posting such a sweet comment! I have book four in my head, but won’t be able to get it written until later this year. I have another series that I need to finish first. I’ll be excited to return to the cove when the time comes! Thank you again! Jeanne

  9. Southern Secrets was an amazing historical series! Thank you. I have been drawn to the historical novels for some time and can’t seem to find enough! Looking forward to starting Whispers from the Cove.

    • Thank you for your kind comments, Brittney! I’m so glad you enjoyed them, and I hope you will also enjoy the Smoky Mountain Secrets Saga. You just made my day!! 🙂

  10. Hi thanks for writing Forsaken by Love. Wonderful book. When will the next book following Verbs journey be out? Thank You M. Orwig

    • Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the book! Book two, “Embraced by Love,” is in edit mode right now, and I’m hoping for it’s release in the next few weeks. I always post updates on my Facebook page, so if you click that link and follow me, you’ll be able to see when it goes live. Thank you again! Jeanne

  11. What a blessing that I found Forsaken by Love on my Amazon, Unlimited Kindle page. I didn’t even know their was another book until I got to the end of if and I immediately went to Amazon and found the next two. You had me hooked. I love all of your characters and the crazy paths they take. I started with Vern and still love him with all my heart but when that series ended I found The Smoky Secrets Saga. When that ended I found River Romance Series. When that ended I found the Southern Secrets Saga. I just finished the last book in that series and found this website at the end. I just had to take a moment and thank you for hours and hours of pure pleasure. You are on of the best authors I have ever read. The last series is so fresh on my mind that I have to tell you how much I love Claire and Andrew and all of their family and friends. I don’t think I will ever recover from the death of Karl, the darling twin. You literally broke my heart, I am a voracious reader and can’t think of another time when a character’s death hit me so hard. I loved that you named the baby Carlene after him. I am so happy to know that I still have the whole, Shrouded Thrones Series left to read. I just finished Redemption this morning and I am starting Island in the Forest immediately. Thank you so much for all of my happy days of reading, I hope you are still writing, I will be on the lookout for any new books.

    • You just started my Monday in the best possible way I could imagine! Thank you so much for all your kind comments and for taking the time to post them. You’ve truly warmed my heart! And yes, I am still writing. I’ve never found anything I enjoy more, and I find it such a blessing to be able to do it and share my stories with others. I’m currently working on my second Smoky Mountain series titled, “Smoky Mountain Promises.” Book one is: “Promise to Marry” and it will be released in the next week or so. This new series follows the lives of the second generation of characters you met in the Smoky Mountain Secrets Saga. Thank you again! With love, Jeanne

  12. I noticed that you have 3 stand alone books. Instead of starting my the Shredded Thorns Series, I chose A Golden Life. What a joy! I loved seeing some of my beloved characters, Claire and Andrew, feel like family to me. What a clever idea, It was beautifully written and I cried with Traci, quite a few times. I love to think of Jack as her angel making all that happened possible. Once again, you completely hooked me and I read the book in less than 2 days. I am on to He’s In My Dreams, can’t wait. With love, Frances

    • Thank you again, Frances! I had such a good time writing “A Golden Life!” It was an unusual book for sure, but so much fun. I cried with Traci, too!
Once again, you’ve made me smile. God bless you! Jeanne

  13. Hi there, it’s me again. I just finished, “He’s In My Dreams”. Wow, you really got me with this one, my only child is named Amber. Was a very emotional read for me but still a “page turner”. The way you made it come together in the end was just amazing. I can easily see this beautiful story becoming a movie. Have any of your books been considered for TV or the movies? I am going to read the final, stand alone book, “Regenerates” next. Yes, I will be checking back in with you when I am done with it. Your faithful reader, Frances.

    • Hello again, Frances! It would be a dream come true to have my books made into movies and/or mini series. Hopefully someday! “He’s in my Dreams” is very dear to my heart. I used to live in Coeur d’ Alene, where it takes place. When I told my editor the idea I had for the book, she said, “How can you have a happy ending when your main character is terminally ill?” I told her, “Just wait and see!” I shed a lot of tears writing it, but I also wanted to offer hope. It’s definitely painful subject matter.

Since you haven’t mentioned “From the Ashes of Atlanta,” that’s another single title of mine that you’ll find on KU. I’ll do my best to keep you reading! Thank you for staying in touch! Jeanne

  14. Hi, I was so longing for one of your never-ending stories that instead of Regenerates, I started The Shrouded Throne Series. Never having read a fairy tale inspired other realm book, I was curious to see if I would once again become hooked. From ten or so pages in, “Island In The Forest”, became a page-turner. I love Prince Sebastian and Princess Olivia so much. I was worried until the end about Donovan but I just finished it and I loved the ending at the ocean. Another beautiful story, beautifully written. I am so thankful that I found your books already written and waiting for me, I couldn’t bear it if I had to wait for “Mountain of Masks”. With love, Frances

    • You never cease to make me smile! I’m glad you enjoyed “Island in the Forest!” Things will get a little darker going forward, but be assured that love will prevail and there will always be a glimmer of light shining through. Thank you again for your kind remarks and uplifting words! Happy reading! Jeanne

  15. Hi there. I just finished reading Bane of Blackwood. I never dreamed you could surpass your storytelling, I am so glad I still have two books left but I am reading day and night, lol. This story needs to be a mini-series. I have never hated a character as much as I hated Frederick. I don’t even want to know what kind of nightmares you have had to come up with him. There is so much evil in some of these characters, they will live with me for quite awhile. Angeline is just wickedly good and I can’t wait to see what book 4 and 5 have. I am still in love with Sebastian and Olivia, theirs is a love to remember. Love the way this book ended. I am gonna need you to write as fast as I am reading, I don’t know what will become of me when I have finished all of your books. Hopefully I can buy the new one soon on Amazon, I keep searching for Promise to Marry but no luck yet. With love, Frances.

    • Thank you, Frances! I would love to see this as a mini series! Hopefully someday, someone who can accomplish that will stumble on it and make it so. I’ve had many people ask me where I came up with all those evil thoughts. I guess at my age, I’ve met so many different kinds of people, and every situation I’ve faced or been exposed to has weaved its way into my stories. Luckily, the good has always outweighed the bad!
My mother was skeptical about the Shrouded Thrones books, but when she started reading, she said she was hooked! She anxiously waited for the final book to come out to see how everything came together, and I’m glad that she was pleased with the results. She’s probably my biggest fan, which is nice!
If all goes as I hope, Promise to Marry should be available by the end of next week.
Enjoy the last two books in the Shrouded Thrones series! Thank you so much for being such a wonderful, enthusiastic reader! I appreciate you so much and the time you take to read and send me these uplifting messages. God bless! Jeanne

  16. Well, I am done with the Shrouded Thrones series. Having never read a single medieval fiction book, I was like ok, what kind of a journey am I going on?
Each character was written to perfection. From the ones I loved, to the ones I loved to hate. You had not, only one realm to deal with but so many more, and they each had their own weather, customs, people. Now that Nara is High Queen, I would love to know more about all of the realms and how they learned to rebuild and re-trust. I definitely see the need for a 2nd series. The fact that I am running out of books to read has nothing to do with this, lol. I would love to see How Nara rules and would love to know all about her new life with Randall. There is just too much good stuff to not have another series. I think this has truly become my favorite series by you. Thank you so much,
    Frances (your devoted reader)

    • Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can’t say it enough! When I originally wrote “Island in the Forest” it was written as a children’s story. Then, (while I was involved in musical theatre), I turned it into a musical, complete with 12 songs. Such fun! When I started writing novels, I decided to grow the story up and rewrote it as an adult fairytale. I had no idea I’d turn it into 5 novels, but as I wrote, the characters showed me how the story would unfold into so much more. I had such fun creating all the kingdoms and bringing them to life.
I’m thrilled that you enjoyed it! It’s my editor’s favorite, too, but many of my readers who like my traditional historical fiction are hesitant to read it. I understand. Medieval isn’t for everyone, and this series is a bit darker than my others. I’d love to write more about what happens next. Maybe one day!
Oh, and you’ll be happy to know that “Promise to Marry” is now available on Amazon. Thank you again for being such a devoted reader! HUGS! Jeanne

  17. I just started Regenerates but I went to Amazon and got Promise to Marry. I am so excited!!! You made my day. Hugs, Frances

  18. I forgot to tell you, I looked up Cades Cove on Google and got to see a lot of pictures of it. They show where you can go on a whole drive around the cove and go (back in time). Looks and sounds beautiful. So excited to start reading, I hope you are working on the next one, lol. Hugs, Frances

    • Yes, you can take a one-way drive on a loop around Cades Cove and see all kinds of old cabins, churches, etc. It really is like stepping back in time. We go there at least once a year. And yes, I am working on book two in that series. I’m on chapter 5. Back to it! Jeanne

  19. I am already half-way through and I adore Noah and can’t stand Micah. How do you do this so perfectly, every single book? You have me so spoiled, I don’t know what in the world I am going to read when I have finished devouring your every word. Do you have any favorite authors that you would be willing to share? I read almost day and night. If I am not sleeping, I am usually reading a book or something online. I am afraid to finish this book, lol. Please, keep me in mind and write fast as you can. Hugs, Frances

    • You’re the kind of reader every author dreams of having! I’m so blessed that you discovered my books, and I appreciate all of your encouraging words. I have a few favorite authors. One is Mary Stewart, who made me fall in love with historical fiction. Her series based on Arthurian Legend is awesome. If you haven’t read it, it follows the life of Merlin. The first book in that series is “The Crystal Cave.” I also love Jude Deveraux. Her book, “A Knight in Shining Armor,” is one of my favorites. She does a lot of time travel books, which I find a lot of fun!
I’m also a big fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. I can’t count how many times I’ve read the “Chronicles of Narnia.” Lastly, I grew up on the “Little House” books by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
If you like ‘sweet’ romance, you should read Darcy Flynn’s books, and if you want to delve into a new world of fantasy, J.L. Lawrence has a Mystic series that’s intriguing.
I hope that gives you some ideas! I’ll keep writing as fast as possible. Have a wonderful day! Jeanne

  20. I finished “Promise to Marry. You did it again, you took me on quite a ride. I never liked Micah but I never dreamed he could turn out the way he did. Noah, I will love forever and I feel heartbroken for everything that Opal went through. I only hope that when Opal gets to Cades Cove, she never wants to leave. I want Noah to have his cabin with the view and the incredible sunrises and all the people he loves. I just can’t believe the way you can tell a story and to top it all off you take time to answer the posts of a fan. I am humbled by this, I read each one of your posts to me out-loud for my husband to hear. He is amazed by your kindness to your whacky fan, lol. I also grew up on the “Little House” books but I look forward to reading all the other books you suggested. I just ordered “Night in Shining Armor” on Kindle and will read it after I finish “Regenerates”. Thank you for everything, Frances

    • Frances, I’ve enjoyed our correspondence so much! You have no idea how inspiring and encouraging all your kind comments have been. You’ve touched me deeply. Thank you so much! I hope I can continue to bring you stories you’ll enjoy that will also touch your heart the way you’ve touched mine.
      God bless!
      Jeanne

  21. Jeanne….finally found all the comments from your readers. How interesting and so complimentary. You are amazing. Saw Diane this morning and she said the same thing. Love you honey, Mom

  22. Well you truly did spoil me for a good story. I read a few of the things you recommended and then tried over a dozen books from Unlimited Kindle and couldn’t find a single author to get me past the first 50 or so pages. I am re-reading the Southern Secrets Saga and I am enjoying it just as much this time. Even though I know what is going to happen, getting there is just what I need. I hope you are writing as fast as you can, when is your next book coming out? Hugs, Frances

    • You always make me smile, Frances! Your comments are so kind and encouraging. I’m writing as quickly as my mind and fingers will allow. I hope to have book two completed by the end of the month, so likely, it will be ready for release in late May.
I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the Southern Secrets Saga again!
Thank you for your message. It’s always great to hear from you! Hugs to you, too! Jeanne

      • Absolutely adored Caleb and Lilly. The series was amazing interesting true emotions in each character. Are there any furure books on Caleb and Lillie?

        Continued blessings Dana

      • Thank you for reaching out to me! There are four books total in the Smoky Mountain Secrets Saga, and also four books in the follow-up series, Smoky Mountain Promises. The Promises series is the second generation of the Smoky Mountain Secrets characters. I also recommend that you read my two-book Blue Ridge Mountains series. Book one is “Hidden in the Blue Ridge Mountains.” You might be surprised to find some linking characters from the other series. Lily and Caleb are very dear to me, too! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed their stories! Happy reading! Jeanne
